October 16, 2024, Vancouver, BC: For generations, BC’s vast natural resources have created the wealth that supports the services upon which we have come to rely. Education, health care, social assistance, childcare, mental health and addiction services – all of these are supported by the government revenues generated in the resource sector.
In September, we wrote to each one of BC’s leading political parties to ask key questions about their support for the resource sector. We have two primary questions: Will you, as party leader, work to renew the natural resource sector, and will you ensure local communities and business are not unfairly burden with the cost of reconciliation.
Based on their responses, it is clear that each party takes a different approach.
