In the heart of British Columbia’s moose country, the Omineca region is also home to huntable populations of black bear, mountain goat, mountain caribou, Stone’s sheep, Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep, and mule deer. The Fraser Plateau, covering nearly half of the region, provides forested landscapes, lakes, and marshlands that create ideal habitats for these species. The Omineca and Rocky Mountain ranges add further depth to the region’s hunting appeal.
