A member once scaled the ivy on the Empress hotel to sneak into another members room. Other members decided to have a bonfire out on the lawn of the hotel.
Subsequently the Empress asked us not to come back….. for many years. We did eventually go back and spent many conventions at the Empress.
Rumors abound about who did the climbing and whose room it was and who struck the match for the bonfire.
The archives are deliberately light on the details. I guess the culprits only know for sure.
